Ards & North Down Borough Council – Arboricultural Services

Clive Richardson Limited were awarded the Contract for arboricultural services by Ards and North Down Borough Council in April 2018. The contract involves works across a significant number of locations (approx. 140) across the Council’s geographical area which spans approx. 228 square miles.

The Council places significant emphasis of the management of its extensive tree stock and has implemented a strategy which is aimed to stabilise this stock over the next few years. CRL work with the Council’s representatives to ensure that this strategy is implemented fully.

Works required under this contract include, but are not limited to, Cutting/shaping of hedges, Sectional/Clear felling of park and urban open space trees, Selective thinning, Removal of storm damage and hung up branches, Stump removal/grinding, Use/supply of cranes, Risk assessment, Liaison with Utility services, Emergency cover, Tree planting, Pruning, Crown lifting/thinning/reduction, and Removal of epicormic growth.

All arisings generated from the works are removed from site and recycled by CRL in our Waste Wood Treatment facility in Portadown.

There is also a requirement for CRL to be available to the Council 24hrs per day, 365 days per year for emergency works. CRL have a dedicated contract manager and a number of operatives who live within the council area and provide the required level of emergency cover.
