IRFU Aviva Stadium 3G Pitch

The Irish Rugby Football Union appointed Clive Richardson Limited to carry out the replacement of the existing 3G pitch surface on ‘The Back Pitch’ adjacent to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. The pitch is home to both Lansdowne Rugby Club and Wanderers Rugby Football Club.

Works included the removal of the existing synthetic pitch carpet and its infill materials. The e existing shockpad was set aside for reuse. Repairs to and the regrading of the existing base were then carried out. The existing shockpad was re-installed with extra pieces added to replace damaged or defective areas. A new synthetic carpet was then supplied and installed on top of the shockpad and infilled per manufacturer’s instructions.

Following the installation an independent test was carried out on the completed pitch surface to World Rugby 2016 standards.
