Wallace High School

Lisburn, Northern Ireland

Clive Richardson undertook the project to construct a new FIH National Standard Class 2 sand dressed synthetic hockey pitch at Wallace High School in Lisburn, County Antrim.

The hockey pitch was to be constructed on the site of existing shale hockey pitches at the school which is situated in a heavily urbanised area.  Works carried out by CRL included:

  • Earthworks to formation level.
  • Sub-base construction to achieve a formation strength suitable for the construction of a sand dressed synthetic hockey pitch to meet the required FIH Standards.
  • Pitch drainage and attenuation system.
  • Existing sewer replacement including the re-connection of all existing land drains.
  • Water-main installation and connections.
  • Engineered two-coat tarmac base to the pitch area.
  • Supply and installation of a Tiger Turf Evo Pro Hockey Surface with associated shockpad.
  • A range of fencing including perimeter fencing, spectator fencing and ballstop fencing with associated pedestrian and vehicular access gates.
  • A series of tarmac footpaths and access roads leading from the school buildings to the new pitch.
  • Installation of a floodlight system.
  • Street lighting and emergency lighting across the site.
  • A range of associated equipment including hockey goals, dugouts, technical shelters and bins.
  • Pitch testing.

The synthetic carpet system, including shockpad were designed by Clive Richardson Limited as part of our works.
